Cherry Picking Guide

It is cherry picking season! Chery picking is a fun family activity and the experience will not disappoint! Get outside, explore and show your kids something new and fun. Scroll down for a list of U-Pick cherry locations in the Bay Area!

Many farms just opened and the season is short. Plan to go in May or early June if you want to pick a piece of cherished family memories. Not to mention fantastic family photo opportunities.

We visited Three Nunns Farm and our experience was AMAZING! The orchard that was open was a 10 minute tractor ride away. So fun for the kids! Cue Blippi “Tractor Song” and add to the fun! Upon arriving at the orchard, staff were there to assist us to find the best crops and they also provided a few cherry picking tips. The cherries were super sweet, easy to pick and the kids had a great time!

An added bonus, this trip is rather quick, ranging anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on how many cherries you want to pick and how quick or slow you move through the orchard.

For any U-Pick fruit, I highly recommend arriving early, or a slightly before opening. The lines get long and traffic built up by the time we were done. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and caught the first tractor ride.
